Negative numbers formatted with parentheses (£1,234) rather than minus signs (−£1,234) are extracted as text strings and will not sum correctly in Excel — use Find & Replace to convert them. Decimal separators: UK PDFs use periods (£1,234.56), but some PDFs from European sources use commas (€1.234,56). Excel may misinterpret European-format numbers — check regional settings. PDFs where table borders are drawn as image shapes rather than text-column spacing may produce poorly aligned output — OCR-first documents are the most common cause. Multi-sheet workbooks cannot be extracted from a single PDF — each page range must be extracted separately and pasted into different sheets manually.
