eSign PDF lets you add a handwritten-style, typed, or image signature to any PDF and download the signed version. It places signatures as a permanent visual annotation layer rather than as a cryptographic digital certificate. This is the type of signature used in most everyday business contexts: employment contracts, tenancy agreements, supplier agreements, and NDAs where the parties trust each other and the signature's function is to mark consent and intent rather than to prove identity through a third-party certificate authority.

eSign PDF is designed for freelancers, founders, landlords, and anyone handling approvals. It runs entirely in your browser — your files are never uploaded to any server.

This tool does not produce a cryptographic digital signature (as defined by eIDAS regulation or the UK Electronic Communications Act 2000 for qualified electronic signatures). Once the signed PDF is downloaded, the signature is flattened into the page — it cannot be removed or moved. Review placement carefully before downloading. Signatures placed over form fields may obscure the underlying field content. The signed PDF has no certificate or timestamp embedded — if you need to evidence when the document was signed, note the date in your records or use Protect PDF to add a password and note the signing date in correspondence.

When you use a typical online PDF tool, your document is uploaded to a company's server, processed there, and returned as a download. During that process, the company technically has access to your file. For sensitive files — payslips, ID documents, client contracts — that is a real privacy consideration.
